Third post of the day. The apocalypse IS coming...
I think I just committed my geekiest act ever: I called Danger Zone (the comic book store) to see if the newest Serentiy comic had arrived yet.
Hi.
Hi.
Hastening the apocalypse
I'm pretty sure it's my life's mission.
To do list:
Buy a Hummer
Vote Republican
Use copious amounts of plastic
Eat (or, rather, buy and throw away) lots of beef from factory farms.
Any other ideas?

Cholesterol update - 'cause cholesterol is so very exciting
Since I went on my cheese-free, high-fiber, etc., diet I've lowered my total cholesterol from 220 to 191, (preferred is <200); lowered my LDL from 154 to 128 (preferred range is <130); and raised my HDL from 40.5 to 44 (preferred range is >40, but for women, so docs say >45, soo.... still some work there - MORE RED WINE!).
So, yeah. My diet worked. Woo hoo!
(Although, this means that I should still lay off the cheese. Boo.)

Spitzer
It's about time the Dems get in on the action. The conservatives (Republican lawmakers, evangelicals) have been hogging the sex scandal spotlight since Bill and the dress.
Go, Gov. Spitzer!

Gladcow is going to be mad that I posted this info before she did. Hi.
Today at work, we're painting.
I'll try to post some pics in a bit.

How about this?
Damn you, eating-excessive-amounts-of-garlic, and your stinky farts/b.o./breath.
Seriously. The toots smell like eating a clove of raw garlic tastes. Eye-watering.

Avert your eyes if feces offends
Damn you, veganism, and your soggy cheese-free poop!

According to Dr. Weil
For people battling high cholesterol, choosing meals wisely can be a challenge, but it is essential. Restaurants, parties, even an office potluck may present unhealthy temptations. But simple dietary modifications can help you eliminate those unhealthy choices, while still allowing you to enjoy your meals. Try these healthful ways to help lower your cholesterol:
Reduce saturated fat. The richest sources of saturated fat (fat that is usually solid at room temperature) in the diet are red meat and dairy foods. Substitute soy protein for animal protein, and use low- or non-fat dairy products. (Check.)
Avoid trans-fat. Stay away from items that list "partially hydrogenated oil" on the label, especially snack foods. Try baked or air-popped versions instead. (Check.)
Use fresh garlic regularly in your meals. Garlic has been shown to help lower cholesterol levels. (Check.)
Drink green tea daily. The antioxidants in green tea help lower cholesterol and prevent the cholesterol in your blood from oxidizing. (Check.)
Eat plenty of soluble fiber. It has a powerful cholesterol-lowering effect. The best sources are beans and lentils, apples, citrus fruits, oats, barley, peas, carrots and freshly ground flaxseed. (Check.)
AND DRINK ONE GLASS OF RED WINE DAILY. (Not from Dr. Weil.)

Ah...
Tennis.
Pasta alla puttanesca. (Whore's pasta - yay!)
Red wine.
My soul feels much better now, thanks.
That's all.

Update on the annoying cholesterol bullshit
So, by not eating any milk products or eggs for five (5) days, I've lost at least five (5) pounds. I say "at least" because either my weight or my scale fluctuates three pounds over a day, so it could be more.
Seems I was eating more milk products than I thought I was. 'Cause, yeah. In addition to not using milk/eggs at home, I haven't snacked when I've been out and about.
